SkinPen and Microneedling

What is PRP and Microneedling?

PRP, short for platelet rich plasma, is also known as a vampire facelift. It is a fluid taken fromSkinPen and Microneedling your blood that contains growth factors and proteins that stimulate collagen growth. This growth starts the rejuvenation process of the skin which results in tighter, smoother, and younger skin quality and tone.

Microneedling is a process of puncturing the skin with numerous micro needles which stimulates the healing process of the skin. When used in conjunction with PRP the healing process is started with high concentrations of growth factors and proteins increasing collagen growth. With these processes the body helps to rejuvenate skin producing a younger more youthful appearance.

How are PRP and Microneedling done?

Blood is first taken from you and then placed in a special tube which is then placed in a centrifuge. The blood is then spun for 15 minutes and separated into different components. The portion of blood plasma that has a high concentration of platelets is then taken from the tube and injected into the face. A portion of the plasma is saved to be used with the microneedling.

Once the injections are complete, the SkinPen machine is prepared to the correct depth of treatment depending on the areas of the face that will be treated. The microneedling then is done essentially puncturing the skin with many small controlled micro holes that then stimulate the healing process. Several passes of the SkinPen are done over the areas to be treated along with the PRP. A moisturizer is applied to help with the healing process. This method of application ensures treatment to all layers of the skin to maximize skin rejuvenation and younger looking skin.
